Welcome to Fourth Grade…
The fourth grade represents a new and exciting chapter in your child’s education. Two major goals of fourth grade are to improve organizational skills and increase critical thinking. These goals prepare students for middle school years. To reach these goals each student must practice personal responsibility. These goals will only be attained with your help and support. A positive parent-teacher relationship will help students feel like the important people in their life are working together.
Hello! My name is Madison Sousa and I will be teaching Fourth Grade! I recently graduated with my Bachelors Degree from Bridgewater State University. I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little and I can't wait to finally fulfill my dream! My goal is to provide a welcoming, fun and faith-filled learning environment for the students in my classroom. Please do not hesitate to contact me anytime through my email address msousa@smsfr.dfrcs.org.

Wonders
In religion, the Faith & Life student textbook incorporates the four principal components of catechesis: the Creed, the Commandments, the Sacraments and Liturgy, Prayer and Scripture. But besides giving a clear and comprehensive presentation of our faith, the student textbook is rich in artwork, both original and classical. Our class is focusing on the following themes this year: God's plan to save his people from sin (Salvation History), how we participate in that plan, and the many ways God helps us in our pilgrimage on earth to Heaven through his word, his law, and his Church.
We aim to help fourth-grade students understand their purpose and goal in life, and to see God's plan in history and society to lead us all to Heaven, our true, eternal home.
A day in fourth grade
As we prepare our fourth graders for life in middle school next year, we utilize our time wisely, to insure a well rounded education.
Every day begins and ends with prayer.
While taking attendance, students will write an entry in their journal.
Each morning, we will begin lessons with Religion, and on Wednesdays, we attend Mass with the school.
Throughout the day, students will then follow with ELA/Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and ELA/Spelling and Grammar.
Every week, our students will have physical education, Portuguese language, music and art classes.
Daily, our students have a snack at 9:20AM, recess outdoors (weather permitting) at 11AM, and lunch at 11:20AM.
CLASSROOM SUPPLIES
All students are supplied with materials for classwork, however, we would appreciate the following items to help keep our classroom healthy:
