I have been a teacher for more than 35  years, with experience at St. Vincent’s Home as a special needs teacher and in the Fall River public schools in grades 4 and 5 until my retirement in 2013. I have been a teacher at St. Michael’s School for the last 10 years. Currently, I teach grade 6 ELA and Science. In grade 5, I teach ELA and Science. I am a Graduate of Joseph Case H.S., and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education as well as a Masters in Education. I am certified in Elementary Education for grades K-8, Moderate Special Needs N-9 and I am SEI endorsed.

I truly love teaching and working with students of all backgrounds and watching their growth and progress over time. I have been married for 37 years with grown married children of my own. I enjoy hiking, bike riding, gardening, and the great outdoors and have a great love and respect for all animals and any living things. I try to share these joys of mine with our students, cultivating a love for our earth and for others. I am very social and enjoy being a people person - I am always accessible via email at smarek@smsfr.dfrcs.org
