Welcome to Mrs. Arruda’s First and Second Grade

Literacy and Science Class

The first day of school has finally arrived! We are having lots of fun in first grade; getting acquainted with friends, sharing stories of how great summer vacation was, and learning all the new rules and routines of the classroom and school.  The first grade and SMS students shared some great things about themselves with their “buddies”.  View the slideshow below for a preview of our fun first days of school!

  Important Back to School Information

Due to the hot weather, please be sure to send water in with your child.  We ask that the water be placed in a sports bottle to avoid spills! Thanks for all your support!

Please note the importance of returning the weekly news folder (yellow folder) on the following day it is given, since important paperwork is given and needs to be returned promptly.

Homework folders will be sent home with your child’s paperwork or/and homework. Please check and return the folder daily with your child.

All lunch tickets should be marked hot or cold with your child’s name, in this way we can be sure that your child is ordering the appropriate lunch. If you do not have tickets and your child will need to charge a lunch, please send in a note to me, in this way I can be sure that your child gets a lunch.

Check your child’s behavior chart/calendar daily for an update of their behavior.  I will always write down on the calendar the reason why your child has received a B or H, so that you may discuss the situation with them at home.

That is it for now folks…check back daily for any upcoming updates!
